Nitra Gallery was founded on 1 January 1965. It is a budget organization of the Nitra self-governing region with legal personality. In all its professional activities, the gallery focuses on the presentation of Slovak fine art of the 20th and 21st century. It currently has five exhibition venues: The Representative Halls, The Salon, Youth Gallery, BUNKER and The Colourful Gallery. In addition to the exhibitions, it offers a rich program composed of cultural and educational events: the Gallery of Music - a cycle of chamber concerts, 4-3-2-1... discussions with writers, The Nitra Gallery Week - on the occasion of the International Day of Museums and Galleries, The White Night – within International Theatre Festival Divadelná Nitra. There are also interesting educational programs for children and students organized, such as Everybody can create, Playing with Art and Young Artist. The traditional event regularly offered to children is The Holiday Painting during summer holidays.
